Italian Braciole

A traditional Italian dish called braciole is made with thinly sliced beef that is stuffed with a tasty mixture of garlic, parsley, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese. It is rolled up in prosciutto and cooked in a tomato and wine sauce until its soft and tasty.

Ingredients:

  • 4 thinly sliced beef steaks
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 slices prosciutto
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 can 14
  • 5 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix together bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper

Lay out beef steaks and place a slice of prosciutto on each

Evenly distribute the breadcrumb mixture over the prosciutto slices

Roll up the steaks tightly and secure with toothpicks

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat

Add the braciole and sear until browned on all sides

Pour in crushed tomatoes, red wine, and beef broth

Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 1 hour, or until beef is tender

Remove toothpicks before serving
